What this blog covers
The Palude B2B sourcing blog is the working library we wish every international buyer had before their first Iranian import contract. Each post is written by the export desk that ships the cargo, not by a marketing team, and each post answers a specific question a real buyer has asked us during a sourcing engagement. The categories below map to the decisions a buyer makes in sequence: which grade to specify, how to verify quality, how to route the payment, how to package and ship, and how to read the market the cargo is being bought into.
The sourcing guides walk through a complete import sequence end to end, from the first inquiry to the delivered container. The quality and standards guides cover the lab frameworks, grading systems and authentication disciplines that separate a verified shipment from a misrepresented one. The logistics and packaging guides cover the reefer, dry-container and crating decisions that determine whether the product arrives as the product the buyer ordered. The finance guides cover the sanctions-compliant payment channels that actually work for Iranian exports. And the market-trends posts cover the harvest cycles, capacity additions and demand patterns that shape pricing across the year.
We publish new guides as the trade environment shifts — when a destination authority tightens an aflatoxin limit, when a payment corridor opens or closes, when a harvest volume comes in above or below expectation. If you are building an annual sourcing programme, the market-trends posts are the ones to read first; if you are placing your first order, start with the documentation checklist and the vertical-specific guide for the product you are buying.
How to use these guides
Each guide is self-contained but cross-references the others where the workflow connects. A buyer importing Iranian saffron into the EU will be directed to the documentation checklist for the payment and customs workflow, and to the packaging standards guide for the argon-flushed foil-pouch spec that protects ISO 3632 values in transit. A buyer importing hand-knotted 9x12 Persian rugs will be directed to the authentication guide for the knot-density, dye-analysis and age-verification framework. The cross-references exist because no single guide covers the full import workflow — the workflow is a chain, and each guide covers one link.
If you have a question that is not covered here, the fastest path to an answer is a direct inquiry. We respond within one business day, and questions that recur across buyers become the next posts on this blog. Request a sourcing quote and an advisor will pick up the file.
Who writes these guides
The guides are written by the Palude export desk — the same team that issues proforma invoices, supervises loading at the Iranian packing facility, and resolves the documentation discrepancies that surface at destination customs. The perspective is the operator's perspective, not the consultant's: every recommendation in these guides is one we have implemented on a real shipment, and every warning is a failure mode we have seen on a real shipment that did not go to plan.
We do not write generic import-export content. If a guide exists on this blog, it exists because a buyer asked us the question and the answer was not obvious — and because the same question has recurred across enough buyers that publishing the answer is more efficient than answering it one email at a time. The guides are opinionated where the trade has opinions (Sargol versus Super Negin for industrial buyers; drum versus Iso-tank for bitumen; third-country correspondent versus letter of credit for first-time payments) and neutral where the trade is genuinely product- and destination-specific.
If you are a journalist or researcher writing about the Iranian export trade and would like source material, we are happy to share the underlying data behind the market-trends posts. Reach out through the contact page and we will route the inquiry to the desk lead for the relevant vertical.
